Los Alamos Jazz Project slated for Dirty Dozen Brass Band Workshop

The Los Alamos Jazz Project has exclusively been invited to participate in a workshop with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the Lensic Performing Arts Center on Thursday October 4th. Participation is open to all current and former Jazz Project students. All students attending the workshop will also receive complimentary tickets to the Dirty Dozen Brass Band performance later that evening at 7:30PM, also at the Lensic. Parents are welcomed to observe the workshop. The cost of the workshop is included in the cost for the current jazz combo classes, and there will be a $20 fee for any students not currently enrolled who would like to take advantage of this opportunity. The students will be learning one of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s commonly performed songs, Cissy Strut by the Meters.  The workshop is October 4th 3:30-4:30 PM. Students will need to be released early from school. Transportation will be provided, though if any students need to return to Los Alamos before the evening performance in Santa Fe they will have to arrange their own return transportation. The Los Alamos Jazz Project greatly appreciates the generosity of the Lensic Performing Arts Center and their Community Relations Director for extending this opportunity to our students.
